The Pets with Disabilities Project Shows Them as Happy Companions
Award-winning photographer Carli Davidson clearly loves animals of all shapes and sizes, as the Pets with Disabilities photo project shows.
Although known for her adorable Shake series in which she shot dogs in motion, this series will surely capture people’s hearts yet again, if in a more heart-wrenching way.
Yet the Pets with Disabilities photo project doesn’t focus on the sad aspect of these handicapped canines. Instead, it is a stark representation of their situation that manages to demonstrate what these dogs are capable of more than what they are not.
Interestingly, Davidson is able to convey this through basic portraits. By doing so, she shows the world that “They are happy, thriving companions. They are not sad, they are not in pain.”
