‘The Supreme Cat Show’ has just happened over the weekend. The organisers claimed it to be “The Top UK Cat Show for the UK’s Top Cats!” and in our opinion it was.
This years show was the 25th event held at The National Exhibition Centre (NEC)in three huge Halls 18, 19 & 20 in Birmingham last Saturday, 24th November.
The “Supreme Show” is known as the official Cat Show of The ‘Governing Council of the Cat Fancy’ (GCCF).
We have been informed that the 26th Show is already underway and will be held on 30th November 2002.
Organisers were very pleased with the entrants with over 380 Grand Champion Cats and Grand Premier Cats competing.
The theme for the ‘Decorated Pen Competition’ was “2001, A Space Odyssey” and let us tell you that ALL the cats on show were in pens that were decorated with exciting space glitter and themes you’d have all recognised.
Among the show, there were hundreds of cat stands selling just about any cat related product imaginable. Many had special show day offers so if you didn’t get to go to this show, book next years in now!
There was also a “Club Row” section where the cat clubs had information tables and cats on exhibition for visitors to learn all about the breed of their choice which was really popular and we noticed a big crowd of happy cat lovers getting first hand chances to talk to specific cat breeders that obviously interested them.
Over all, the show was fun and getting a chance to get up close and personal with as many types of cat breeds was very exciting.
